In recent years, 3D printing technology and materials made huge progress and improvements in terms of diversity, quality, reliability, and affordability. 3D printing is no longer expensive, complicated nor exclusive to engineering and creative professionals, it’s a viable choice for many people who want to make and customize products that were previously very limited with traditional production processes and limited color options.  This way products are available within hours, without the need for transportation and packaging. The most common material used, PLA (polylactic acid) is made from corn starch and generally biodegradable, while other commonly used materials such as PETG and nylon composites can be made from recycled waste. 3D printing allows products to be made hollow, reducing the time and material needed for production, making them lighter yet structurally stable.

Products are designed so that they can be easily printed with most consumer 3D printers, 3D files are coming with detailed settings and instructions that require minimum or no post-processing.

Many products are possible to print on both, FDM and SLA 3D printers, while some are exclusive for one or the other giving the difference in build volume and technology.
